Fat bloke on a Moped - Project Norfolk

Fri, 24th September 2010 to Sat, 25th September 2010

Starting at Southery - circumnavigating the norfolk border

After his wife was diagnosed with Ductal Carcinoma In Situ (DCIS) which, in non medical terms, means she had cancer cells forming on the inside of her milk ducts, David Fletcher decided that he wanted to do something to ensure there is the support and guidance in place to help others in a similar situation. And also to raise money for Keeping Abreast

David is going to be attempting to circumnavigate the Norfolk border on a moped, over 2 days (24th & 25th September 2010).  Then next year the plan is to do something bigger and better by riding around  he mainland of Britain some time in the summer. Not to much of a challenge, you may be thinking? Well bare in mind the following points David has mentioned on his website and you may think otherwise;

'1. I'd never riden a motor bike, let alone a moped, in my life
 2. I therefore had no form of motor bike licence
 3. Naturally, with points 1 and 2 considered, I don't own a moped either
 4. I know nothing about mopeds or motor bikes
 5. I weigh 20 stones '

To raise funds David is looking for both donations & sponsorship and also by asking biker to participants pay an entrance fee donation at the start line of £10.  So if you have a motorbike/moped license and would like to join the team on their adventure you'd be more than welcome.

For more information visit David's website http://www.fatblokeonamoped.com
