Keeping Abreast Welcomes the Circus!
23rd May 2012
The Lancaster Suite at the Holiday Inn in Norwich was recently transformed into a glittering Big Top for the fourth annual Keeping Abreast Ball.
Guests were welcomed by a stilt-walking ringmaster, a juggler and clowns into the room that was decorated with metres of pink and red material. And on arrival a welcome drink and a goody bag or Keeping Abreast circus pin badge was presented to each personAfter a sumptuous meal of circus themed dishes including Big Top Beef and CoCos Mess, guests were entertained with a game of Heads and Tails to win £200 followed by our traditional Auction where 11 fabulous auction lots were sold to the highest bidder.
Everyone then spent the rest of the night dancing away to 'Scratch the Cat' and resident disco until 2am.
After adding up the money from ticket sales, the heads & tails, raffle and the auction the amount raised was an amazing £7,700!
Victoria White, National Fundraising & Development Manager said "This had been the biggest ball we have organised to date as we really embraced the whole circus theme, which everyone seemed to love. I am really pleased with how much we have raised especially in the current climate and I would liek to thank everyone who has been involved in making the evening a sucess."
A selection of photographs from the evening can be viewed in the Norwich Gallery here and a full gallery can be viewed by visiting all-about-image photography
