About our group:
The Norwich group of Keeping Abreast holds its bi-monthly Support Meetings at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH). Normally, each meeting welcomes a guest speaker followed by a “model” session where women have the opportunity to see surgery results and talk about experiences on a one-to-one basis.
We welcome anyone considering reconstruction and still looking at options, those who are still going through surgery, and those whose reconstruction is now complete and would like to help others.
Partners, family members and friends are also welcome to come along with you if you would like some company.
Where we meet:

Each outreach group varies in structure but is normally an informal environment to share information and experiences over a cup of tea. If you can’t make one of the meetings, please get in touch, as we can make arrangements for you to talk or meet our volunteers at a mutually convenient time.
Want to help?
As a group we are on the look-out for a number of volunteers to join us to help run the group so we can offer support to more women considering and undergoing breast reconstruction.
Ideally we are looking for some previous reconstruction patients who would be willing to talk to others about their journeys, and also some individuals to help with the administrative side of things too!
If you might be interested, please contact the Keeping Abreast Head Office on the number or email address above.
Alternatively you can send us a message via our Volunteers Page here
Nick of Time:
As well as supporting women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and looking to have an immediate or delayed reconstruction, Keeping Abreast also supports those women looking to have elective reconstruction surgery due to the discovery of a breast cancer gene. This support is provided by our sister group ‘Nick of Time’. It is likely that there will be elective surgery patients at your local group, but if you would like specific information or further details please contact Nick of Time.
